Energy Services Administration

Energy Services is responsible for providing critical utility services for the University community, including UNC Hospitals.    These responsibilities include utility operation and supply, maintenance of production and distribution systems and long-range utility infrastructure planning to support campus growth.

Central Business Office

The staff of the Central Business Office provides support to the Energy Services Business Units as well as their customers.  Areas of responsibility include customer service, long-range planning, budgeting, rate setting, financial reporting, utility and work order billing and collection.

Human Resources has decentralized authority providing a range of technical and professional services for all operating units.  These include recruitment, salary and records administration, policy & procedures, safety and training programs, as well as benefits counseling.

IT Program Management Office (PMO)

The purpose of the PMO is to centralize and coordinate the planning, prioritization, and execution of major Energy Services information technology projects. The PMO is also responsible for project management methodology and best practices that ensure consistent and effective communication; and risk, change control and resource management    In addition, the PMO develops and updates short and long range goals and plans for the department’s IT systems.
